چکیده

Background Fourier velocity encoding (FVE) [P.R.Moran,MRI (1),1982] assesses the distribution of velocities within a voxel by acquiring a range of velocity encodes (kv) points. The ability to measure intra-voxel phase dispersion, however, comes at the expense of clinically infeasible scan times. We have recently extended [C.Santelli, ESMRMB(345),2011] the auto-calibrating parallel imaging technique SPIRiT [M.Lustig,MRM(64),2010] to exploit temporal correlations in dynamic k-t signal space and successfully applied it to radially undersampled FVE data. Prior assumption of Gaussian velocity spectra additionally allows undersampling along the velocity encoding dimensions [P.Dyverfeldt,MRM (56),2006]. In this work, a scheme is proposed to nonuniformly undersample the kv-axes in addition to undersampling k-t space for reconstructing mean and standard deviation (SD) of the velocity spectra for each voxel in aortic flow measurements.

Feasibility of 4D flow MR imaging of the brain with either Cartesian y-z radial sampling or k-t SENSE: comparison with 4D Flow MR imaging using SENSE.

PURPOSE A drawback of time-resolved 3-dimensional phase contrast magnetic resonance (4D Flow MR) imaging is its lengthy scan time for clinical application in the brain. We assessed the feasibility for flow measurement and visualization of 4D Flow MR imaging using Cartesian y-z radial sampling and that using k-t sensitivity encoding (k-t SENSE) by comparison with the standard scan using SENSE. ...

L1k-t ESPIRiT: Accelerating Dynamic MRI Using Efficient Auto-Calibrated Parallel Imaging and Compressed Sensing Reconstruction

Background Iterative self-consistent parallel imaging (PI) reconstruction (SPIRiT) [1, Lustig M, MRM 64:457-71,2010] has been extended for dynamic imaging by exploiting temporal correlations in k-t space (k-t SPIRiT) [2,Santelli C, MRM 72:1233-45, 2014]. Using eigendecomposition of a modified SPIRiT operator, computationally optimized reconstruction formally translates into auto-calibrated SENS...

Axial motion and scalar transport in stretched spiral vortices

We consider the dynamics of axial velocity and of scalar transport in the stretched-spiral vortex model of turbulent fine scales. A large-time asymptotic solution to the scalar advection-diffusion equation, with an azimuthal swirling velocity field provided by the stretched spiral vortex, is used together with appropriate stretching transformations to determine the evolution of both the axial v...

Measurement of neutral flow velocity in an ECR plasma using tunable diode laser LIF spectroscopy combined with saturated absorption spectroscopy

The radial flow of neutral particles in an electron-cyclotron-resonance (ECR) argon plasma has been measured by using a newly developed high resolution laser induced fluorescence (LIF) measurement system. The flow velocity is determined by the Doppler shift of the LIF spectrum. A very high accuracy calibration of an excitation laser has been achieved by installing a saturated absorption spectro...

The Radial Velocity Distribution of Class I and Flat - Spectrum Protostars ∗

We analyze radial velocities for a sample of 31 Class I and flat spectrum protostars in TaurusAuriga, ρ Ophiuchi and Serpens for evidence of the global dynamical state of extremely young stellar populations buried within parental molecular clouds. Comparing the radial velocity of each protostar to that of the local CO gas, we are able to constrain the one dimensional radial velocity dispersion ...
